Compassionate Boundaries Workshop

Boundary-setting are hard, especially in healthcare!

Setting boundaries can be challenging. It’s even harder in healthcare, where our work often asks of us incredible amounts of time and energy — especially in a broken healthcare system. As women and gender minorities in healthcare, we may feel a constant tension between our own needs and those of our patients and colleagues. Talk of boundaries may be unwelcome or taboo in your work environment, but what are we to do when the systems we operate in promote practices that ultimately harm our physical, emotional, and mental health?

To sustain ourselves and build a meaningful and balanced life and career, boundaries are essential.

In this incredible workshop produced in collaboration with Hope England, trauma-informed therapist and founder of Humor For Hope, we will be creating a workshop deconstructing and delving into healthy boundaries for healthcare workers.

In this workshop on compassionate boundary-setting, we will cover:

1) What are boundaries (and why they are essential)

2) How to create and maintain boundaries

3) Identifying and addressing roadblocks to advocating for and asserting boundaries in healthcare systems

AND there is the option to get 2 CMEs through CMEfy with the CME admission price! Learn more in the FAQ section.

This will be an experiential workshop that includes self-reflective practices and tangible takeaway tools that you can use in your work and take into your everyday life.

Workshop times:

March 16th @ 5:30 PM CST

May 13th @ 9:30 AM PST

In-Person Retreat

Join us for our in-person Introspective Spaces retreat on April 22nd!

Creating space to rest and connect is essential in our busy lives. Yet, between juggling all of the responsibilities of work and home, it can be so hard to find time to slow down, pause, and rest.

Retreats are a wonderful opportunity to tend to our inner worlds and reconnect with our purpose and values.

Most importantly, they are times to gather in community with others who are navigating similar journeys.

After nearly two years of gathering virtually, we are so grateful for the opportunity to host an in-person retreat dedicated to connection and restoration for women in healthcare.

This retreat will be held April 22nd 2023 from 9-4:30 PM PST in Los Altos, California at the Los Altos Jesuit Retreat Center. We can’t wait to see you there

Register by March 22nd to take advantage of early bird pricing!

Compassionate Boundaries Workshop for Women in Healthcare

Setting boundaries can be challenging. It’s even harder in healthcare when we are asked to push ourselves to our limits everyday, especially in a broken healthcare system. As women or gender minorities in healthcare, we may feel a constant tension between helping our patient and colleagues and caring for ourselves. Interfaith Spiritual Connection

In partnership with a racial equity grant from Interfaith America, we are excited to announce our pilot

Interfaith Spiritual Connection Group

This group is inspired by two Black women of Christian and Buddhist origin who have influenced our thought and practice. The first is Queer Black Chaplain and Reverend Lynice Pinkard, and secondly, former Buddhist Nun and lay Dharma teacher, Kaira Jewel Lingo. We will use the latter's book We Were Made For These Times as our anchor. This intimate pilot group will meet for three Wednesdays in August for an hour and a half of community, conversation, and most importantly — trying a spiritual practice together.

This project was birthed from our belief that we need spiritual grounding to stay in high burnout vocations, such as healthcare, for the long-term. Thus, we welcome all those who are in high-burnout vocations and/or are at higher-risk due to the compounding effect of living as a minority in your workplace.

The cost is free of charge. However, we will ask that you purchase Kaira Jewel Lingo's book, We Were Made For These Times.
